I question the net wealth claimed by two former Dragons in the Mail on Sunday. Linney’s claim is a joke following the demise of Outsourcery (OUT) as is that of Sarah Willingham of Nightcap (NGHT) which I look at after its latest crap acquisition and lack of profits warning. Then it is onto Wandisco (WAND) and the proposed bailout at just 50p, to Eurasia (EUA) where nothing at all adds up. Then onto today’s ouzo moment, the suspension of Eight Capital Partners (ECP), the insolvent fraud Supply@ME Capital (SYME) and Canadian Overseas (COPL) whose shareholders’ reactions to my latest piece show themselves to be as unpleasant as they are stupid. When Canadian, already 90% down since my first big bear call, heads towards 0p as it will inevitably do I will have no sympathy at all.

Once a week the investment hookers at Proactive pen a small cap column for the Mail on Sunday. This week’s effort is flagged up below. Nowhere on the column is there any disclaimer to admit that Proactive is paid by companies to publish research. The BBC’s Panorama recognised which journalist exposed the disgraced fund manager Neil Woodford from 2015 onwards with more than 1000 articles, podcasts and videos. When I confronted Woodford at his AGM in May 2019, he signalled me out as the journalist who had been most “wrong” about him. Within 3 weeks his funds had been gated – as I predicted. Woodford made £40 million from the venture, tens of thousands of ordinary savers lost billions. I had been right while Fleet Street blew Woodford off almost to the end. The FCA is now looking into Woodford but 20 months later the disgraced fund manager is plotting a comeback. How do we know? The Sunday Telegraph had the scoop. This is corrupt journalism that shames our profession.

The financial sections of newspapers like to have articles about celebrities as, they can use a photo and they believe that brings traffic. But when it comes to dealing with celebs either laziness or corruption kicks in. Last week I flagged up the appallingly untrue Mail on Sunday coverage of Dragon’s Den star Sarah Willingham and her grossly overvalued (in part to the MOS ramp with its wrong numbers) and scandalously conflicted Nightcap (NGHT) POS company by Harriet Dennys. This week I turn to David Beckham who features in a Daily Mail article by Francesca Washtell which is also a disgrace.

Agronomics (ANIC) is an AIM listed firm which knew full well on Friday that it was set to raise £4.5 million at 5p – as against a 5.5p mid. So here is what to do. Leak the story to the fraudsters fave journalist, Ben Harrington, who will give it an utterly misleading write-up in the Mail on Sunday in return for the “scoop.” MoS readers fill their boots on Monday and the shares move higher – they are now 6.5p. So Harrington and the Fail on Sunday get another “scoop”, the Spiv clients of broker Peterhouse get to flip the stock and thank Peterhouse which earns 5% to pay for the coke and hookers and the company is cashed up. The only folk who get screwed are readers of the Fail on Sunday who are buying shares on the basis of completely fake news.

Yesterday's bearcast explained the massive red flag of Neil Woodford having to sell his crown jewelsd, shares in Imperial Brands. Today, his most devoted follower on the sewer that is Fleet Street, Jeff Prestridge of the Mail on Sunday has, after 30 years of loyally kissing Woodford's arse at least once a fortnight, abandoned ship. The ship once swarmed with parasitic and, often unthinking, rats. Now there is just one left, Hargreaves Lansdown. I explian what this all means. Downing Street is desperate to bully us into backing its weedy sell out Chequers plan on Brexit, or indeed an even more pathetic version of it once the EU make demands which wretched Theresa May caves to. It has thus unleahsed , via pliant papers such as The Sunday Times and, especially, the Mail on Sunday, a deluge of scare stories about the possible consequences of not agreeing to its awful deal.

Bon, A Quindell (QPP) owning Moron, asks on this website why “If Tom Winnifrith is such a brilliant investigative journalist does he not work for a top newspaper, he is just a blogger” It is a very fair question and has a several part answer.
I start by saying that I have served my time in the mainstream press: Evening Standard, Agence France Extel and Investors Chronicle staff, freelance contributor at Mail on Sunday etc., etc. But that was then and this is now.
The first reason not to go back is that no paper would hire me. My style is to use words that are “un-paper like” such as moron, and “sucking PR cock”. Moreover newspapers – as you may have noticed – are not into investigative journalism in the way that I practice it. For their (largely failing) business models it does not make sense to pick away day by day at fraudulent companies as I do. How many frauds on AIM has the deadwood press exposed in the past year? Er
